The most musical “Pueblo Mágico”

The musicians playing songs and “jarabes” make Nochistlán a place full of year-round excitement and celebration. This Zacatecan “Pueblo Mágico” maintains a clean image; a provincial air which invites travelers to stroll through the “Jardin Morelos” and its municipal market, and through its old and modern architecture. The San Francisco de Asis Chapel is a key landmark.

This Pueblo Mágico was founded in 1532, that’s why it is considered the second oldest municipal head of Zacatecas. This town is surrounded by hills, where nopales (cactus) full of tuna and grana are grown. Today it conserves a clean image and a provisional air. With the passage of time this region was formed through characters like Francisco Tenamaxtle, of romerías ready to adorn the Virgen de Toyahua (Lady of Toyahua), musicians and the traditional dances as the “jarabe”  that make this place full of joy and celebration throughout the year.

– Gastronomy

Its abundant gastronomy in flavors is derived from the richness of the land that is full of ingredients and with the mixture of dishes born from the fusion of Spanish and pre-Hispanic cuisine, one of the typical dishes is the Pollo a la Valentina.
