Image and Colors of Mexico

Day 1: Mexico City

Arrival at the airport in Mexico City and transfer to the hotel. Lodging.

Day 2: Mexico City- Teotihuacan

American breakfast. Departure to visit Mexico City, which highlights the Plaza de la Constitución or Zócalo, surrounded by buildings of great architectural, artistic and historical value, such as the National Palace (exterior), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor Azteca (exterior). We will visit the main avenues with their monuments, as well as the Diego Rivera Mural Museum to admire his work “Sueño de una tarde Dominical en la Alameda Central” (Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Central Alameda). We continue with a panoramic visit of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, located in Tlatelolco. This was for the Aztecs the most important market of their empire, because it was possible to get a great variety of products. We continue our excursion to the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, the mysterious city of the gods, where we will visit the gigantic Pyramid of the Sun (built in the 1st century), the Pyramid of the Moon (built in the 2nd century), the Avenue of the Dead, the Citadel with the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Palace of the Butterflies. Lunch. On the way back to the city, visit the modern Basilica of Guadalupe. Rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Mexico City- Puebla- Oaxaca

American breakfast. Departure to Puebla, city Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Chapel of the Rosary, the House of the Dolls, the Company of Jesus, the University, the Plazuela, the Callejón de los Sapos and the House of the Alfeñique. We will also enjoy free time in the Parían, a colorful handicraft center. Lunch. Continuation to Oaxaca, land of jade and gold. Lodging.

Day 4: Oaxaca- Monte Alban

American breakfast. We will begin our visit with Monte Alban, the ancient Zapotec capital. Continuation to the town of San Bartolo Coyotepec, famous for the elaboration of black clay vases, then we will go to the textile region called Teotitlán del Valle, where the artisans will show us how the fabrics are made and how the colors are obtained in a natural way. Return to the city of Oaxaca and brief walking tour through the main streets of downtown.

Day 5: Oaxaca- Veracruz

American breakfast. Departure to the Gulf of Mexico, to the well known Port of Veracruz. Arrival at noon. Accommodation and free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the Fort of San Juan de Ulua and the city with its old and crowded boardwalk, its lighthouse, Municipal Palace, Old Maritime Customs, Post and Telegraph building and the Civil Registry. At night, you can admire the bohemian and cheerful atmosphere of the “jarochos” that invade its zócalo. Lodging.

Day 6: Veracruz- Tajin- Xalapa

American breakfast. Departure to visit the archaeological site of El Tajin, “The City of the Thunder God”. This place delights us with five main areas: the Plaza del Arroyo, the Central Zone, La Gran Xicalcoliuhqui, El Tajín Chico and the Conjunto de las Columnas. Among all its constructions, the Pyramid of the Niches stands out, with 365 cavities alluding to the solar year and flying cornices, a true engineering prodigy. In the afternoon, departure to Xalapa, capital of the state of Veracruz, through the beautiful Emerald Coast, arriving at our destination. Lodging.

Day 7: Xalapa- Coatepec

American breakfast. In the morning, visit to the Anthropology Museum of Xalapa that houses the treasures of the Totonaca, Olmeca and Huasteca cultures. At the end of the visit, we will continue with a visit to the Bola de Oro Coffee Museum where we will learn about the cultivation and process of the coffee bean until we get to roast the coffee we consume. We will continue to the Magic Town of Coatepec, famous for its coffee and orchids. Return to Xalapa in the afternoon. Lodging.

Day 8: Xalapa- Tlaxcala- Mexico City

American breakfast. Departure to Tlaxcala. We will start with a visit to the Basilica of the Virgin of Ocotlán, a temple whose Baroque interior was built in the 16th century, and the former Convent of San Francisco, currently the cathedral, next to its bullring. We will walk through its beautiful and clean Historic Center to the Government Palace. Free time. Continue to Mexico City. Arrival and lodging.

Day 9: Mexico City

American breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer from the hotel to the Mexico City airport. End of services.
