About:
This year, Queretaro boasts a new Magical Town that, for many, already was for its incredible nature and the picturesque of its territory.
Anyone who is passionate about nature will be conquered by the extraordinary landscapes and natural sites of Pinal de Amoles, it could even be said that the most iconic photos of nature in the state of Queretaro were surely taken in this municipality.
Today, the Mirado de Cuatro Palos is one of the most visited by the visual enjoyment that you have towards the famous Cerro de la Media Luna and the so-called “sea of clouds” that can be seen under your feet, a spectacle that appears most of the year during sunrise, undoubtedly the best time to be in this paradisiacal site.
Another impressive place is Puente de Dios, a great walk among the green foliage that is fed by the waters of the Escanela River. The rock formations that escort this body of water give you fascinating portals where contact with nature is the main protagonist, as in much of the entire municipality of Pinal de Amoles.
On your trip to this place in the Sierra Gorda, do not miss the opportunity to visit the El Chuveje Waterfall, which is more than 30 meters of waterfall, or stay in a cabin in the woods to have an experience completely out of everyday life in the city.
Take a tour of the Bucareli Mission, an old Franciscan building located among the mountains in the lower part of the municipality. This old mission for evangelization purposes was abandoned in the 18th century and today remains as a vestige of the pacification process of the Chichimecas in this area of the Sierra Gorda.
Visit the ajolotario of Pinal de Amoles, located in a room of the Tomás Mejía Community Museum, where the protection of the mountain variant of this endemic species of Mexico is preserved and promoted, an ideal place to learn about it in a controlled environment without danger for the salamanders.
