The most joyful “Pueblo Mágico”
The drumming, the joy, and the amicability of the Jerezians, along with its bohemian and romantic atmosphere have made Jerez a town where celebration never ends. This “Pueblo Mágico” also hosts the impressive Sierra de Cardos.
The first town to be enrolled as part of the Pueblos Mágicos in Zacatecas, is located in an agricultural valley with great natural beauty. In Jerez there is always party, it has neoclassical style buildings which are witnesses to the stories that have been lived since its foundation. It has a dry and tempered climate, ideal for relaxation.
One of the great musical riches offered by the Jerez community is the Cargadero, since it was here that different pre-Hispanic musical styles were fused to finally create the famous “Tamborazo Zacatecano”.
– Typical of the Region
In the Pueblo Mágico de Jerez we find typical handicrafts as the Filigrana which is a technique of a legendary Spanish silversmith.
The Talabartería is another one of the famous crafts within the region and is used to create those beautiful embroidery of pita which is a fiber extracted from the maguey and that is ideal for designs in leather.
Finally, there is the Handicrafts Market where you can find different items and a great variety of sweets.
– Gastronomy
Some of the typical dishes that the region has are the asado de boda jerezano, the birria, the barbacoa, among others; but you can’t miss the peculiar tostadas and tosticarnes jerezanas.
