About:
This beautiful Magical Town, better known as “La Ciudad de las Aguas Alegres”, is a splendid valley located in the central region of the High Mountains.
Rich in history, it has witnessed events of great importance; like the Cerro del Borrego Site, where the historic battle between the Mexican army and the French invaders took place.
Much of the beauty of Orizaba is reflected in its buildings, it has a declaration of a Historic Monuments Zone that includes 113 buildings, among which stand out: the Municipal Palace, which houses the only mural painted in the State of Veracruz by Jose Clemente Orozco, the Iron Palace, the Ignacio de la Llave Theater, the Temple of Carmen.
Other important attractions are the State Art Museum; the Cable Car, the Cerro del Borrego and Cerro de Escamela Eco Parks, the Ojo de Agua Lagoon, the River Walk, the Piedra del Gigante or Xipe Archaeological Piece.
It has a multiplicity of museums to visit, among which the Orizaba Interactive Museum, the Torre de la Catedral Museum, and the Rodolfo Neri Vela Planetarium, among others, stand out.
As far as gastronomy is concerned, Orizaba is a mixture of smells and flavors, you can try an endless number of dishes, but perhaps none as well-known as chileatole, a brothy stew typical of the mountain climate.
