The best tours in Mexico

After more than 20 years of organizing tours for groups and FITs is so hard to say if I have a favorite one. There are several ones so special and particulars.

I can say that the best ones are when we touch our travelers’ hearts and take a piece of Mexico in their memories back home; this is when I really feel proud of it!

Absolutely, we believe in the quality of services and authentic experiences, including landscapes, food, history, and art and very local experience.

Besides the tour chosen, a professional tour guide proud and knowable of Mexico, with a deep experience relating with people and making happy and satisfied our travelers, will make the difference.

And working as a team, guides, tour conductors, and of course our colleagues and friends around the world, we offer what our travelers are expecting to find, and we will do our best to exceed their expectations.

For instance, Mexico City is a must. In general most of our travelers who arrived in this city find it as a great surprise. It is a great and cosmopolitan cultural destination with excellent tasty food, entertainment, an intensive and dynamic life full of fascinating contrast, and an original lifestyle. Also, we show and visit a bakery with giant cakes, getting a churro, or dancing with the mariachis in the famous Tenampa bar. But even aboard a trajinera-boat singing cielito lindo, or showing the best pieces of his favorite artist and telling fascinating history, this might be the difference. And all this permits a significant connection between their Mexico City tour experience and our travelers.

One of the most original and authentic tours I can share is Day of the Death in Michoacan in the Indigenous little towns such as Tzurumutaro around Patzcuaro Lagoon, where Coco Pixar movie was inspired on the 1st and 2nd of November. So authentic, so simple, and at the same time so artistically humanized of symbols, lights, flowers, ornaments. I remember when one of our travelers said, “In this place, you can think that death is beautiful.”

Besides this, the area is so rich, considering their authentic handicrafts in all possible materials. I can say this is a land of artists surrounded by astonishing landscapes around the lagoons, oyamels forest, and the authenticity of the Indian villages still speaking their ancient language and Monarch Butterflies. Altogether it is a fascinating experience.

Another place I can add without a doubt is Oaxaca city and the Indian villages around it. The most incredible colorful markets with the creation of the alebrijes and their meaning, consider the top handicraft of surrealism in Mexico, a place to be included are the markets of San Martin Tilcajete, but also the Rugs of Teotitlan del Valle and Zachila and their impressive archeological site with the flavors and colors on the streets and the markets. You want a musical experience, do not miss the life of the City of Oaxaca’s main plaza, colorful balloons and handcrafts, kids running, and great bands with classic songs such as La Llorona y La Sandunga. And if you have a group, a Calenda (music experience on the streets) is a must; people will dance, sing in the streets of a very lovely and charming colonial City.

Chiapas and its Indian towns are for the lovers of nature and Indian local villages; there is still a very nice tropical jungle, colorful waterfalls, deep canyons, Indian villages, and a great Maya City of Palenque. One of my best tour experiences is visiting Montes Azules’ reserve. With Ceibas of 70 mt hight, surrounded by spider monkeys, macaws, there are still jaguars in the jungles protected by the national park in the land of the proud Lacandones indigenous towns, just another tour great experience.

Encuentro has more tours or circuits to share with you and keep talking about great first-class attractions, including the
