SELVA MAYA JUNGLE 2023

The Lacandon Jungle is located in the southeast of Chiapas. It is a unique place for its natural beauty, Mayan culture, exuberant wildlife and humid jungle climate. This natural paradise is perfect for ecotourism and adventure tourism.

Day 1: Villahermosa – Finca Vallescondido

Meet and greet with a local representative and transfer to Finca Vallescondido, one of the most beautiful tourist centers in Chiapas. Its strategic location provides an encounter with calm in middle of a wild paradise. A luxury in the middle of the Lacandon Jungle and located inside a ranch on the shores of the Southern Border Highway, has preserved the vegetation jungle and harmony with the natural environment, using stone limestone as part of its interior decoration in each of its rooms in which it is possible to cool off under the light of the fireflies that visit the place, on a hot and moonlit night full.

Day 2: Finca Vallescondido – Yaxchilán – Bonampak – Finca Vallescondido

After breakfast we head towards Frontera Corozal. Once there, you will board a boat that will take you through the waters of the Usumacinta River to the impressive archaeological site of Yaxchilán. It is one of the largest Mayan capitals, which reached its splendor with its ruler Pájaro Jaguar IV, a descendant of Escudo Jaguar. Proof of this are its magnificent stone-carved stelae and lintels. Transfer to Bonampak, whose name means “Painted Walls”, and therein lies the fame of this site, since on the walls of the enclosures are the best preserved paintings of the Mayan World. Return to Finca Vallescondido.

Day 3: Finca Vallescondido – Lacanjá Chansayab (Rafting Experience) – Palenque

Breakfast and check out. Departure to Lacanjá Chansayab, a Lacandon community that subsists on the natural resources provided by the biodiversity of the Montes Azules reserve and the Mayan cultural legacy manifested in its vestiges. Called “Green Water Serpent” by the Mayans, this river does not have a high degree of difficulty (only some rapids up to three meters high), however its thick jungle vegetation makes it an incredible natural sanctuary. You’ll enjoy a scenic rafting ride through waterfalls and pools as you delve into the lush landscape of the Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve. During the trip, you will visit the archaeological site of Lacanjá and the Moctuniha Waterfalls, with free time to swim and rest. Walk back to the camp. Transfer to Palenque.

Day 4: Palenque – Villahermosa

Visit the archaeological zone of Palenque, one of the most important sites of the Mayan World. Lakamha, as the city was known among the ancient Maya, flourished in the 7th century. It rose to prominence under the reign of legendary King Pakal, whose tomb was found in Palenque ́s most iconic landmarks, the Temple of the Inscriptions. This ruined city is home to some of the most beautiful architecture, exquisite sculptures, and carvings produced by the ancient Maya. Enjoy a guided visit and admire the impressive structures and the breathtaking natural environment of this World Heritage Site. After this visit, we head to Villahermosa Airport.
