Veracruz is filled with pride: Federal Sectur names two new Magical Towns

Two destinations are added to the long list of interesting places in the State of Veracruz. The Ministry of Tourism of the Federal Government named the municipalities of Cordoba and Naolinco de Victoria as Magical Towns.

After eight years of not receiving any new distinction, and thanks to the management of the Veracruz Ministry of Tourism and Culture, this important sum has been achieved for the promotion of the entity.

“This is one more achievement for Mi Veracruz and an incentive to continue working to promote actions and create new strategies that allow the state to be positioned as a tourist reference and as the tourist power that it is,” said the head of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Ivan Martinez Olvera.

The dependence did not neglect the training processes at any time. It supported, advised, and provided support to the corresponding addresses of both municipalities to integrate the files and technical visits that strengthened their vocation and application to the Government of Mexico.

Candidates for Pueblo Magico must integrate a thesis, an inventory of natural, cultural, historical, and monumental attractions. As well as a clear directory of local services, certifications and training implemented.

These two points are added to Orizaba, Xico, Coatepec, Papantla, Coscomatepec and Zozocolco.

Relevant to the country’s history, Córdoba is the cradle of the treaties of the same name that, on August 24, 1821, recognized the independence of our country from the Spanish Crown. Other important attractions are the Ex-Hacienda de San Francisco Toxpan, one of the first sugar mills in the country; the Sugar Cane Museum and the Coffee Museum. Cordovan hospitality is enshrined in the historic center with the Portales de Córdoba, the 21 de Mayo Park, the Cathedral, and the Municipal Palace.

Naolinco de Victoria, for its part, is a sample of the conservation of economic activities linked to tradition and artistic beauty, since this town is famous to produce handmade shoes and the handling of leather in saddlery. Its cobblestone streets overlook the center of the city where the San Mateo Apóstol Sanctuary and the pantheon with its authentic tombstones are located, where the famous “Cantada” is performed on the night of the Day of the Dead.
