Museo Manuel Felguérez

The Museum of Abstract Art is located in the Antiguo Seminario de la Purísima Concepción from the 19th centruy, which during the 20th century became a prison. Its collection covers a retrospection of master Manuel Felguérez, including over 100 works of art from abstract artists who lived in different decades, from the rupture generation of the 1950s to the present. This collection depicts the development of this plastic-art current in Mexico.
Museo Zacatecano

The building hosting the Zacatecan Museum is the former Casa de la Moneda de Zacatecas (Zacatecas Mint) and, today, it holds a vast collection of archeological vestiges, Huicholean numismatic elements and art, and a community with solid roots in the state. The Museum tells Zacatecas’ history through objects.
Museo Pedro Coronel

Throughout its history, the Pedro Coronel Museum has undergone numerous changes. It was a Jesuit school, but became a Dominic school after. Then, it was used as a neighborhood and a prison. This museum is a popular visiting choice among the buildings of the city center. The enclosure’s extension is as surprising as its collection, hosting pieced donated by the Zacatecan sculpture himself. The collection also includes works by Kandinski, Dalí, Miró, and Picasso, which are located in the Eastern halls of the museum. In addition to being a unique experience, access is optimized to avoid queues and overcrowding.
Museos Rafael Coronel

This museum is located in the ex Convento de San Francisco; its construction began during the 16th century and concluded in the 18th. The museum first opened on July 5th, 1990 to honor Rafael Coronel, an outstanding Zacatecan painter, who created pieces to be exhibited specifically in this museum. Its halls hold over 16,000 pieces, which include masks, drawings, pots, terracotta, pre-Hispanic objects, puppets, votive offerings, paintings, crafts, musical instruments, and colonial furniture.
Museo de Guadalupe

The Guadalupe Museum is the oldest in the State of Zacatecas. The museum opened in 1917 and it was officially inaugurated in 1938. The museum preserves, researches, and spreads the greatness of the cultural legacy of the Franciscans. Furthermore, the museum is divided in two main sections: the on-site museum and art gallery. Paintings, sculptures, and other objects evoke the environment in which the friars trained themselves.
Museo Francisco Goitia

The Francisco Goitia Museum surprises visitors even before they enter. It is surrounded by appealing gardens and, with the hypnotic architecture of Fatima’s temple as the background, the museum is a great site to take pictures. The museum features both Zacatecan art and pieces created by artists from other Mexican states. This exciting exhibition includes works of art from Manuel Felguerez, Pedro y Rafael Coronel, Julio Ruelas, José Kuri Breña, and among many other talents. For those who are more sensorial, the encounter with Goitia’s self-portrait will be a very special moment.
