The most delicious “Pueblo Mágico”
This beautiful city hosts orange trees that scent the air with their flowers. The city preserves its gargoyles made out of quarry and cultivates blue agave to produce white, “reposado”, or aged mezcal. Additionally, the town produces agave creams of different flavors, including coconut, coffee, passion fruit, pina colada, almond, and pine nut at the Don Aurelio factory, where it is also possible to get acquainted with the transformation process of this traditional beverage.

This town was founded by Spaniards and is guarded by quarry gargoyles. In this town the field is fertile to sow the agave azul that finishes with the preparation of the mezcal, it is worth the trouble to know this Pueblo Mágico by its buildings of century XVIII, but above all to know its factories of mezcal.

– Typical of the región
In the region we find different typical flavors and craftsmanship. Regarding the flavors we can try the mezcal blanco, mezcal reposado or aged as well as the agave creams of different flavors like coconut, coffee, passion fruit among others. You can not miss the typical sweets such as dulce de leche, sweet potatoes, candies and others in the Mercado Municipal.

– Gastronomy
The flavors of its particular gastronomy show lot of differences with other regions around the state; since the region has a warmer and more humid climate. In its traditional cuisine we find the pipian, the gorditas de horno, the queso de rancho and cottage cheese.
